Where to start? Well, I started my career at a very young age. Trying to load and unloading trucks, carrying mic stands, sleeping in artists guitar cases! I became serious in the early 90's going through the Modular Intern program. By 1994 I was going out on shows and doing monitors for various acts. In 1997 I took over doing FOH for Flip Like Wilson, doing many different clubs and show, ranging from 5 people to 5000 people. On all sizes and shapes of various Pa's (some a lot better then others, their is nothing like micing a drum kit with Realistic mics)? Late in 1996 while doing on of these shows at a club in Trenton, NJ, I had the pleasure of walking in and mixing a band called Shelter. They are a hardcore,straight-edge Krishna band!?! I ended up going on tour with them 2 nights later opening for No Doubt in large Arenas. Using Clair Bros. The only other major tour was a year later in 1997, doing Leah Andrioni on parts of Lilith Fair and also some solo dates in Boston, NY, Philly and Conn. In 1999 on New Year's Eve I started working with Engine#9 a cover/original band from Philly . They combine funk, dance, rap, and rock to make a great sound and are nightmare for any engineer!(just joking, but I have never had to have my hands on the foh board so much!) Any Questions? Do I know what all those knobs do? Yes, Can I touch that? No Are you the DJ? NO Are you deaf or do you always carry around a sign language interpreter? A little from column A and a little from column B What happens if I do this (acting like their going to move a fader)? I have no clue! Favorite things Mics= Audix Bands=Tool Led Zep Yes E#9 Pa = Modular 1221 with dw18's Board=Ramsa4424 Food=chicken parm. My career began in the early 80's as a recording engineer at Shore Fire Recording Studios in Long Branch, NJ. As an intern I mixed many long late night sessions working for next to nothing but loving every minute. There is nothing like recording stoned and drunk artist's late at night. When I wasn't mixing a session I was composing on and playing keyboards in some local original bands including Think Blank, Warner and Dagnabbit! Before making the transition to Live Sound Reinforcement I studied Piano Tuning, Rebuilding and Service. Over ten years later I am proudly servicing pianos for more than 1200 private piano owners, churches, schools, theatres and clubs as a Registered Member of the Piano Technicians Guild. The tuning arts have helped me greatly as a live sound engineer by being able to relate the audio frequency spectrum to the notes on a piano. I can hack out feedback frequencies quickly or identify room anomalies and overtones with ease. Who needs TEF analyzers when all you need is Heart and Soul. Through Modular Sound I have had the opportunity to work with many of my favorite artist's. To name more than a few, Bobbi McFerren, Chick Corea, McCoy Tyner, Buckwheat Zydeco, Shaun Colvin, Gwar, Brian McKnight, Dr. Billy Taylor, Keiko Matsui, Joshua Redman, Jonathan Butler, Richard Thompson, the late Charles Brown, Keb Mo, The Spinners, Jill Sobule, Gerald Veasley and John Tesh...whoops! strike that last one, hee, heh, ho. Let the touring begin! My National and World Touring credits include stints with that old time folk singer Judy Collins, Legendary Jazz Saxophonist Grover Washington Jr., the Strange and Beautiful music of John Lurie and The Lounge Lizards. I continue to learn, grow and make new friend's at every gig. Won't you be my neighbor?
